Books

These poems reflect the experiences and expressions shared over a lifetime. They are what I would expect from a poet: structured, thoughtful, creative, intentional, and thematic. I have not finished but I am enjoying reading them.

Reading them is like a combination of discovering a deep thinking poet and remembering conversations we've had over decades... and acknowledging it was a matter of time before what we've heard was out to paper.

Okay, so let me say, “Get your copy without delay! This book is LIVE, this book is DOPE! This book tells of pain, and extols hope!” The first poem (from which the book gets its name) literally encapsulates the human experience. I AM is a DEEP, SOUL SEARCHING, LIFE REVEALING journey that you MUST take!! I have one and encourage ALL my family and friends to get their copy.

Way to expand my Brotha! The book is a must have! I find it hard to put down. The inspiration guides you to consider several possibilities of interpretation and self appreciation. I will no doubt read and reread! Awesome work David.

I want you to know that I am enjoying your poetry and prose in "The Color Black" immensely. So much so, that I purchased two more books to give away as gifts so that others may enjoy your work.

Your writing makes me feel as if I am right there in the moment. I have shed tears, felt the pain, struggled, and felt the love, and it has opened my eyes to a time and place that I have lived but yet have not embraced as I have through your eyes. Your poetry captures the essence of moments, times, and history in a way that I've never embraced before. Thank you for sharing.
